Education Design Standards

Provides guidelines for the number and types of rooms, and space allocations for all school facilities. The total instructional area and total gross area are mandatory, but there is flexibility in the actual room sizes, number of rooms, etc. These standards were last updated in August 2011. They may be updated in the next year or so and can be found in Appendix C of the School Capital Manual. Mandatory for ALL projects. Note: This link is to the page with the School Capital Manual.
